Exit at Rabbit Creek and take left on Rabbit Creek Road.\u00a0\u00a0 After few miles of driving, take right on Clarks Road.\u00a0 You should see a Soccer field, Ray Storck Homestead park.\u00a0 From there take Clarks Road all the way to the end of the road.\u00a0 Take Kings Way to valley.\u00a0 Take left on Snow Bear Dr..\u00a0 The road changes name to Black Bear Dr and sharp left to Honey Bear Ln. \u00a0 At the end of Honey Bear Ln., take right to the trailhead.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bear Valley to the Ridge Peak<\/p>\n<p>Difficulty:\u00a0 Moderate but steep.<\/p>\n<p>Distance: 0.9 miles, Elevation gain 1000 ft.<\/p>\n<p>Starting elevation: 2090ft,\u00a0 Ridge 3150 ft.<\/p>\n<p>There is only one trail originating from the trailhead.\u00a0\u00a0 After quarter miles of going through low brushes, you will be out of tree zone.\u00a0 Take your time, and follow the trail all the way to the ridge.\u00a0 It is steep; however, wherever you stop,\u00a0 you will have a gorgeous view of Anchorage and Chugach mountains, from Flattop far on the left to peak 2, 3, and Ptarmigan Peak. \u00a0 At the end of the mountains are North Suicide and South Suicide Peak.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Extension from the Ridge Peak to McHugh Peak (4311 ft)<\/p>\n<p>Difficulty:\u00a0 Moderate.<\/p>\n<p>Distance: 2.0 miles, Elevation gain 1000 ft.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>From\u00a0 the Ridge Peak, follow the ridge to McHugh Peak (4311 ft). \u00a0 The McHugh peak is a rock crown at the end of the ridge.\u00a0 The ridge consists of several peaks and valleys, but height of drop is about 100-200 ft.\u00a0\u00a0 When weather is good, you have wonderful view of mountains.\u00a0\u00a0 Basin of the McHugh peak is a wide moonscape like rock field.\u00a0 Trail end there.\u00a0 Take your route going up to the ridge.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bear Valley:\u00a0 Golden View Trailhead\u00a0 Bear Valley: Golden View Trailhead has great access to McHugh Peak, and view from ridge is one of the best view of Anchorage and Chugach mountains.
